New film ‘Frozen’ may be a hit with children
The new film ‘Disney’s Frozen’ may just be the most-watched movie of the year in the United States, and it has been a hit on the social media platform, Facebook.
The latest instalment in the Disney franchise of children’s films has been downloaded over a million times on Facebook and Instagram in just a week, the company has revealed.
The film has also attracted an estimated 1.7 million views on YouTube, making it the most viewed animated film in the U.S. to date.
But the movie has also received mixed reviews.
Critics have been quick to point out the film’s reliance on CGI and a lack of humour, and even Disney’s own Twitter account has posted its own take on the film.
“Disney’s Disney Frozen” is based on the hit animated film by the same name and stars Kristen Bell as Anna, Idina Menzel as Elsa, Josh Gad as Olaf, and Tiana Johnson as Anna’s sister Elsa.
The film has already racked up nearly $2.8 billion in ticket sales worldwide and is one of the biggest box office successes in Disney’s history, overtaking Beauty and the Beast.
The studio has also been busy releasing new episodes of “Frozen” over the last year, and has already been planning for a sequel.
The movie has been watched by over 5.3 million people on Facebook, according to Facebook’s analytics service.
That compares to 3.6 million who watched the original film, and 2.7 billion who watched “Fantasmic!”
