When do the ‘Superbowl of the world’ stars return?
The NFL is about to enter its seventh season and there’s a lot to be excited about.
So excited, in fact, that a lot of people in and around the NFL are looking forward to the return of some of the best stars in the business.
With that in mind, here’s a rundown of the Super Bowl’s top players and what they can expect to bring to the table.
First up, there are some big names on the horizon, but don’t expect to see them in this year’s show.
Former NFL wide receiver Reggie Wayne will be the only Super Bowl participant on this year and he’ll be joining the other stars of the game in the Superdome.
Wayne will also be taking part in the game as part of a Super Bowl 50 production team.
That means he’ll not only be in the audience for the show, but will be part of the production crew as well.
Wayne was the NFL’s second-leading receiver last year and has also helped the Seahawks to the Superbowl title this year.
Wayne has been a key part of Seattle’s success this season, so it’s not too surprising that he’s joining the Superbowl production team as a part of this years show.
Second-year wide receiver Michael Crabtree will be on the sidelines as he recovers from a knee injury that kept him out of the first Super Bowl.
Crabtree had surgery earlier this year on his left knee, which is why he’ll miss the first few weeks of the season.
That makes him the only player in the league who will miss this yearís Super Bowl, which starts on Feb. 1.
However, he will be back soon.
He was injured during training camp in 2015 and missed the entire 2016 season before being cleared to return.
His return is expected to happen on Feb., 27, 2019, a day after the Seahawks’ season opener.
That means Crabtree and wide receiver Tyler Lockett, who has been the NFLs best receiver for most of this season but will miss out on the show due to a knee reconstruction, will be at the Super-Bowl.
The two will be in attendance for the first time on Feb, 27, 2020, and both will be making appearances on the Super Showcase on Feb 1, 2020.
Lockett is the only receiver on the list to have made it to Super Bowl 51 and is set to do so again.
Lockett is set for a second chance.
The wide receiver is still recovering from the knee reconstruction and will miss the rest of the year.
That will allow Crabtree to play again, which could be a big boost to his numbers.
Locket is set up to make a comeback in 2018, which will allow him to have more success this year before locking down a Superbowl appearance again in 2020.
Thats it for the marquee players.
For the most part, the Superstars will be coming back in 2018.
We have to be careful though, because it’s a long year and the NFL does not release the names of its players who will be playing in the show.
For example, tight end Rob Gronkowski, who was sidelined for all of 2016, will not be in town for Super Bowl LI, so he wont be on display.
The only other tight end that will be attending the Supershow is offensive tackle Ryan Clady, who had surgery in October on his knee and will be out of town for a while.
There are a couple of big unknowns with respect to 2018.
Quarterback Russell Wilson is expected back this year, but it wons not clear how he will play with the team.
We know hes capable of playing, but we dont know if he will or not.
Weve seen the same kind of injuries to other players in the past, so expect to hear more about his rehab as well as his performance this year with the Seahawks.
In the meantime, the team will try to get the most out of veteran QB Russell Wilson, who is coming off a career year in 2018 and has been playing well for Seattle.
The team could also use some depth at the position.
In fact, the Seahawks will be without two of their best defensive players, DE Kony Ealy and DE Mike Morgan, for this season.
Morgan will be missed for the rest and will have been for the majority of the 2016 season.
Ealy was a big part of that unit and was the only other cornerback to make the Pro Bowl this year after leading the Seahawks in interceptions.
The other four players on this list will also miss out this year as they will be off to new teams.
We may get to see how this unit fares without Morgan in the lineup next season, but thats just speculation.
Finally, it is expected that the Superstar duo of Deion Sanders and Michael Bennett will return for a Superbounce in 2018 as well, though they wontey up the option of not participating.
Sanders will be a free agent
